Souvenir typescript on two yellow 8.5 x 11 sheets, signed in ink at the top of the first page “Rosa L. Parks 11-1-80” and signed and inscribed in ink at the bottom of the second page, “To Tom Grafton, Thank you. Sincerely, Rosa Parks. The typing is really beautifully done. Best wishes for a successful future. RP.” Entitled ”An Interview with Rosa Parks” detailing her famous arrest. In part: “The driver looked at me and asked me if I was going to stand up. I told him no, I wasn’t. He said, ‘If you don’t stand up, I’m going to have you arrested.’ He didn’t exchange any more words with me. He got off the bus, and when he came back he stood in the well of the front door and I didn’t say anything, but he was looking towards the back…When the policemen got on the bus…I asked him, ‘Why do you push us around?’ He said ‘I don’t know, but the law is the law, and you are under arrest.’” Two horizontal mailing folds and a stray ink mark beneath her signature on the first page, otherwise fine condition.
