Original vintage ticket for "Operation Big Beat" at the Tower Ballroom, New Brighton, on March 9, 1962, measuring 4.5 x 3.5, and listing Merseyside's "Top Ten Groups," which includes: Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, Faron and the Flamingoes, The Four Jays, The Big Three, Earl Preston and the T.T.'s, and Johnny Sandon and the Searchers. Reverse is numbered "1719." In fine condition, with old mounting residue on the reverse. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Ringo Starr played drums for Rory Storm and The Hurricanes before leaving the band in mid-August of 1962 and replacing Pete Best as the Beatles' full-time drummer. Consignor notes that this ticket originates from the collection of Johnny Byrne, the guitarist for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.
