Rope (Warner Brothers, R-1950s). Argentinian One Sheet (29" X 43"). While justly Heralded as a bold filmmaking exercise, this near-continuous shot mystery also confronted some bold ideas. Alfred Hitchcock used only nine extreme long takes in the film, a stylistic choice that would certainly test an audience's patience. Just as challenging, though, was the discussion of morality, which encompassed Nietzsche and Nazis and class difference -- not the placid themes of an average studio offering. This stone lithograph one sheet from Argentina places Hitchcock's face front and center in the marketing of the film. The poster shows almost no fold separation and only a few small tears on the edges. Very Fine/Near Mint.
