ALS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, January 13, [1962]. Letter to Alvin Boretz, writer for Philco Television Playhouse and GE Theater. In full: “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kind & generous letter. It was good of you to take the time & trouble. “Also may I thank you for a heartwarming & moving story & a part I’ll long remember. Your story has easily become one of the high spots in our eight year history. While I subscribe to the “rating system” as at least an indication I am far more concerned with the face to face reactions on the street the morning after. This time I have had the rare reaction or I should say experience of being stopped by strangers who simply wanted to thank us. Again I thank you.” Letter is archivally sleeved in acid-free Mylar. In fine condition. Boretz wrote one particularly memorable and moving episode for GE Theater entitled “The Wall Between” where Reagan played a recurring roll of Sam Miller with Stephen Boyd as Bud Austin. The episode aired January 7, 1962 (the eighth year Reagan was with GE theatre), a week before Reagan writes this letter. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
