ALS signed “Ron” on his gold-embossed 6.25 x 4.25 personal notecard, November 30, 1989. Reagan writes to Joseph Kingsbury-Smith. In full: “Thanks for sending me Bill Hearst’s ‘Editors Report.’ Will you please tell him I’m very grateful for his generous words and impressed by his entire coverage of the present world situation. I don’t get too many chances to be heart warmed by pieces in the media but when I am it is usually by Bill Hearst.” In very fine condition.

Kingsbury-Smith was a journalist who had shared the 1956 Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Reporting of International Affairs with William Randolph Hearst, Jr. and Frank Conniff. The coverage to which Reagan refers is related to his history-making call to tear down the Berlin Wall. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
