ALS signed “Ron,” written at the bottom of a one page TLS to Reagan from Newt Gingrich, 8.5 x 11, Congress of the United States letterhead, stamp-dated April 10, 1980. Gingrich writes to Reagan forwarding a copy of his letter to the editor of Time, as well as a copy of a Republican Study mentioned by Gingrich in the letter. Reagan sends thanks to Newt Gingrich for a letter to the editor of Time magazine. In full: “Just a line to thank you for your letter to the ‘Time’ editor. It was good of you to do this, and I’m most grateful. Believe me, this will be a great help. I’ve refuted several of the charges that have been made by CBS, the L. A. Times etc., but have tried not to appear defensive. The truth is that, with few exceptions, virtually every attack has been as unfounded as the one you have so thoroughly refuted.” Some light toning and creasing, staple to top left, and a couple small ink notations, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a copy of Gingrich’s letter to Time, and the aforementioned study, both of which are stapled to the letter. RRAuction COA.
