TLS, one page, 6.5 x 8.5, personal letterhead, July 27, 1989. Reagan writes to Joseph Kingsbury-Smith. In full: “Thank you for sending me Bill Hearst's report. As usual it made great good sense. I have brought it to the attention of the Office of National Services which we created and which continues to mobilize the private sector. I have sent the Hearst report to Dr. Bill Walsh who is President of Project Hope. They have started a major project to provide food and clothing in Poland. Again thanks and my very best regard to Bill Hearst.” Kingsbury-Smith was a journalist who had shared the 1956 Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Reporting of International Affairs with William Randolph Hearst, Jr. and Frank Conniff. In fine condition, with a few light wrinkles. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Walsh was the founder and leader of Project Hope for 34 years.
