Original vintage color glossy 10 x 8 red-numbered NASA photo (AS17-152-2339]) of Apollo 17 CMP Ron Evans performing extravehicular activity during the Apollo 17 spacecraft's trans-Earth coast. During his EVA, Evans retrieved film cassettes from the Lunar Sounder, Mapping Camera, and Panoramic Camera. The total time for the trans-Earth EVA was one hour, seven minutes, 18 seconds, on Sunday, Dec. 17, 1972. Reverse of photo bears "A Kodak Paper" watermarks. In fine condition, with creasing to the upper right corner tip. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity stating that the photo derives from the personal collection of Paul Werner Gast, an American geochemist and geologist (1930-1973) who led geo-science management of the Manned Spacecraft Center in preparation for Apollo mission sample return from the Moon. He served as chief scientist of the Apollo Lunar Science Staff, and was one of the science consultant group known unofficially as the 'Four Horsemen,' along with Jim Arnold, Bob Walker and Gerry Wasserburg.
