Romeo and Juliet (1936) - Lady Capulet (Violet Kemble-Cooper) screen worn, medieval century style ivory dress with train, light brown pinstriping, burgundy velvet applique pattern along the entire dress. With detachable belt with bronze colored tassles, clustered faux pearl embellishments,and bronze embroidering with pearls sewn along the collar. Worn in the scene where she asks Juliet (Norma Shearer) if she would marry Count Paris (Ralph Forbes), and when she visits Juliet on the night of her wedding and also the next morning when she finds her dead. This incredible memorabilia comes direct from the Debbie Reynold's archive collection. Debbie Reynolds and Todd Fischer purchased and acquired this amazing collection decades ago from the MGM auction, 20th Century Props auctions, Christie's auctions, Planet Hollywood and numerous additional auctions. Debbie Reynolds then opened Hollywood Central Props where many of these props and costumes were used in the making of feature films and television shows. This auction also marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration with The Debbie Reynolds’ Archives and her son Todd Fisher with a collection of props, costumes and photos including an ensemble from CHOCOLAT, ROMEO AND JULIET, MISSISSIPPI, V FOR VENDETTA, THE PATRIOT, THE LAST SAMURAI and more!
