Sought-after color 17.5 x 23.5 lithograph of Kate Burness' famous poster for the canceled one-day Rolling Stones concert at Cardiff and Pembroke Castles in Wales in September 22, 1973, signed in the lower border in black felt tip by Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Mick Jagger. Lower right corner features an embossed 'Tongue and Lip' logo. Rolled and in fine condition, with a bit of adhesive residue in the borders. Consignor notes that the poster was signed at an after-party following the band's concert at Boston's Fleet Center on September 3, 2002. The scheduled show at Cardiff and Pembroke Castles was scrapped when the Welsh government grew fearful of the Stones' wild reputation and foreseen negative impact on the local youth. As a result, thousands of Kate Burness's richly detailed posters were destroyed, with Burness and friends retaining less than twenty prints, and Jagger purchasing the original artwork. A decidedly uncommon Stones-signed poster.
