1944 TLS from Pittsburgh industrialist Roland D. Payne regarding buying a franchise of the All-American Football Conference. Dated 20 March 1944, letter runs 1.25pp. and is signed ''R.D. Payne.'' Written near the end of World War II, letter to Buffalo Tigers' General Manager Fiori Cesare states that play will begin ''...as soon as the war's end makes it feasible...'' Mildly toned with staple holes and fortified three-punch holes, otherwise excellent.
