<B>Roky Erickson Signed Mabuhay Gardens Concert Handbill (1977)</B></I> New Wave ruled the scene in June, 1977, but a few "Old School" rockers still won the respect of the young punks. Chief among them was Roky Erickson. Roky's 1960s band, the 13th Floor Elevators, were psychedelic pioneers, and in '77, their classic debut album was reissued, along with a bonus solo single by Roky ("Bermuda", backed with "The Interpreter"). This mind-blowing record must have piqued the curiosity of those who heard it, so this San Francisco show was probably packed -- after all, Roky's history of mental illness had kept him out of the public eye throughout most of the late '60s and early '70s. Here's a cool handbill from one of Roky's rare performances, signed by Erickson in black marker. It's in NM- condition. "The Interpreter, where is he now..."
