<td width="100%">
Beautiful Rococo-style pewter soup tureen with handles at each side and a lid. It has two marks imprinted on the inside bottom of the tureen, one of them an angel with open arms holding a scale and the legend in German: Fein Zinn (Fine Pewter), and Italian: Peltro 95% (95% Pewter). The figure of an angel mark with a scale representing Justice is a quality mark used to identify good quality pewter. It was used from the 18th Century onwards in countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Low Countries, Eastern border of France, etc. The other mark, most likely the maker's mark, shows a figure resembling a tree inside an oval of dots. Country of origin unknown, possibly Swiss (since the quality mark is in two of its official languages) or German (a country where curved molding Rococo domestic ware pewter was highly appreciated). In very good used condition, with minor signs of wear. Please ask questions, request additional photos and shipping costs before buying.

Measurements: 15.25" at widest point (including handles) by 9" deep by 11" tall approximately. Weight: 5 lbs (2.3 Kgs)
