American artist and illustrator (1882–1971) known for his crisp modernist style. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 7, July 3, 1909. Kent discusses a picture that he had sent. In part: “Thank you very much for your letter and for the checque. I am of course delighted that almost everyone likes the picture so much, but very sorry that it isn’t a more sunny one that it would be more to your taste. It is truly the picture that I care most for—next to the one that I wanted to keep that I wrote Mary about. I hope the picture will wear well. This is no place that I would so gladly have it.” In fine condition, with a few scattered ink marks near the top of the paper. RRAuction COA.
