The Franklin Mint produced a series of fifty 51mm Sterling Silver rounds bearing images of birds by noted sculptor Gilroy Roberts, the ninth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint between 1948 and 1964, and the designer of the obverse of the Kennedy Half Dollar. The Franklin Mint offered Roberts Birds individually and in sets of five, each set given a Roman numeral from I to X.
