This early legal document is signed by Paine but also contains notations between the lines with changes noted in his hand. This legal document pertains to an "Elisha" who has sought to be protected by Thomas Gage and has given up his right to a previous property. Paine as Attorney General is asking for the Court to give an opinion on behalf of the "Commonwealth".
