Declaration of Independence signer Robert Morris document signed regarding a transaction with Dutch merchants. This bill of exchange for the sum of 603 Dutch guilders is signed ''Robt Morris'' in Philadelphia on 20 April 1785. Payable to ''Messrs Van Rykevorsel & Ellenckhuysen'' and directed to ''Messrs. Wilhelm & Jan Willink'' in Amsterdam, Dutch merchants who were among several mercantile houses that agreed to loan funds to the United States in 1784 at the behest of John Adams. Single page measures 9.5'' x 3.75''. Near fine condition.
