The eroticism of some of his creations triggered controversy over the public funding of artworks. Sedate 6 x 4.25 postcard photo of his portrait, ‘Tulips,’ signed in black ballpoint beneath the image. In fine condition. Mapplethorpe’s signature is very uncommon.
