Robert Klass Second Model Luftwaffe Dagger with Scarce Black "Funeral Pattern" Grip Scabbard and Hanger

Only seen on Luftwaffe daggers manufactured by Robert Klass of Solingen, the black celluloid handle is surrounded by mystery, with some theorizing that they were a special order item intended to be worn at funerals and other somber occasions. 14 3/4 inches long overall, with a 9 1/2 inch blade, polished alloy fittings and a pair of twisted wires wrapped around the black grip, which shows thin streaks of white on either side of the wires. With a nickel finished scabbard, alloy suspension bands, and a square-buckled hanger.

Fine. A small amount of pitting and polishing is visible overall, with a gray patina on the collar and bright alloy on the guard and pommel. The grip shows some cracks and scuffs. The scabbard is good, with mild spotting and wear, and the hanger shows a few stains.
