During his early years as an Artist , 1966-1977 Robert Elliot Indiana worked as a set and costume Designer . This hand signed lithograph from his "Mother of us All" series was from a costume designed for the theatrical production bearing the same name , and celebrating the life of Susan B. Anthony, and the Women's Suffrage Movement . An original Limited Edition lithograph on Arches paper, Indiana Elliot was published 1977, in an Edition of 150, plus proofs. Paper Size: 24" x 20." Signed & numbered in pencil. It was published by Leon Amiel, and Printed on arches paper by Fernand Mourlot, Paris. Excellent Condition; Conservation framed With Certificate of Authenticity included. Suggested Retail Gallery Price: $1,250.He is known for using public signs and symbols with altered lettering to make stark and challenging visual statements. In his paintings and constructions he has given new meaning to such basic words as "Eat", "Die" and "Love." Using them in bold block letters in vivid colors, he has enticed his viewers to look at the commonplace from a new perspective. One indication of his success was the appearance of his immensely popular multi-colored "Love" on a United States postage stamp in 1973.
