14 3/4" by 17 3/4" framed. Robert (Bob) Hamilton (Born 1947) is active/lives in Montana, California. Robert Hamilton is known for Western, wildlife and landscape painting, photography. R. (Bob) Hamilton was born on a ranch in eastern Montana in 1947. Upon completion of the eighth grade, Hamilton found work as a ranch hand and wrangler, later moving into town to deal poker in the back room of a bar in Baker. Always with Hamilton was the camera received as a graduation present from his family. His interest in photography never waned, and at the age of 19, he traveled to New York to study photography. Hamilton remained in New York for the next 14 years pursuing a carrier in fashion and publicity photography. Friends convinced Hamilton to join them in southern California where he worked as a freelance photographer. It was during frequent visits to Santa Barbara when Hamilton began putting brush to canvas. During a 1998 location shoot in Montana, he realized how much he missed his home state and never returned to California. Hamilton now lives a fairly private life in southwestern Montana where he sells his art primarily at local auctions and shows. Hamilton claims his worst fear is that his art catches on and elevates him to the prominent position that was his at the backside of the camera lens. Allard Auction Collection Inv: GEI
