Signed book: North of Boston. Later printing. New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1925. Hardcover, 6 x 9, 137 pages. Signed on the first free end page, writing the last stanza of ‘The Road Not Taken’:
“I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost. For Eleanor Ober.”
In very good condition with moderate toning to signed page, cracked and partially separated front hinge, ownership signature above Frost’s inscription, light wear and soiling to boards, light bumps to corners and light fraying to the top and bottom of the moderately soiled spine. Book is housed in a custom hardcover clamshell case. The first such example we have seen!
