Robert F. Kennedy Autograph Letter Signed.
Robert F. Kennedy Autograph Letter Signed "Bob". Four pages, 5.75" x 7.75", Hyannisport stationery, Hyannisport, Massachusetts, nd. Written to John "Bud" Reilly, who was a friend of Robert Kennedy's and therefore was involved in some of John F. Kennedy's campaign processes. Accompanying the letter is the original envelope, postmarked from Hyannisport, and autographed on the back by RFK as "RF Kennedy". The letter reads in part: "…McCarthy has really had very little to say on our European Foreign policy and as far as his remarks on the Far East are concerned I don't think they are very original. Jack has a lot of information on this whole situation though and of course Dad has made a couple of speeches of some importance on this whole problem since the end of War II…" This letter contains all the pieces of a "key content" Kennedy letter: Jack, his father, McCarthy, Taft, and politics. Majority of the Kennedy letters on the market are stock replies and cordial thank you's for various things or functions. This letter, on the other hand, is an amazing look into Robert's views on the Far East and foreign policy, not to mention a glimpse into his personal life. JFK's views on foreign policy have always been subject to some debate; however, it is clear that during his term of office the Cold War was beginning to slowly seed the political scene. Letters such as this are a unique opportunity to hear political rhetoric without the lens of media and public relations. In very fine condition; usual folds are present; several tears, lower edge and right edge of the first page are affected, and lower edge of the second; wrinkles and creases detract minimally; adhesive residue from mounting on the inside facing pages.
