ALS signed “Bob Kennedy,” one page, 6 x 8, United States Senate letterhead, no date but annotated as received on June 26, 1965. Handwritten letter to Senator John S. Cooper of Kentucky, in full: "I very much appreciate your remarks on the floor Wednesday following my speech on nuclear proliferation. I am very grateful that you took the time to come and that you participated in the discussion meant a great deal to me." In fine condition.

On June 23rd, Robert F. Kennedy took to the floor of the United States Senate to deliver a speech opposing the widespread proliferation of nuclear weapons. Amidst the Cold War, this was one of the most confounding problems of the era. In July 1968, just one month after RFK's assassination, the United States signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons to prevent the spread of such weapons.
