Rare Robert E. Lee letter signed, dated 14 June 1853, when he was Commander of West Point. Dark, bold and pristine signature at the bottom, ''RE Lee'', is addressed to Major General Thomas Jessup regarding results of a board inquiry, certain articles and camp equipage represented as unfit for further service. 7.75'' x 9.75'' letter framed with a portrait of General Lee to a size of 17.5'' x 23.5''. Two mailing folds and some creasing, else in very good condition.
