English poet and playwright (1812–1889) who perfected the dramatic monologue in such works as My Last Duchess and Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister. Ink signature, “Robert Browning, April 14, ‘87,” on an off-white slip. Quadruple matted and framed with a portrait of Browning to an overall size of 11.5 x 14.75. In very good condition, with irregular edge, scattered toning, and some light soiling.
