Union general (1805–1871) who commanded three United States forts: Castle Pinckney, Fort Moultrie, and Fort Sumter. Crisp and precise war-dated ink signature, “Respectfully, Your obt. Servt., Robert Anderson, Brig. Gen. U.S.A.,” on an off-white sheet. Double-cloth-matted and framed (without glass) with a portrait of Anderson to an overall size of 15.75 x 23.25. In fine condition.
