One of the world's classic copper deposits. Large specimen is 6 x 6 x 3". Pyrite plus chalcopyrite plus a small breccia specimen. The Rio Tinto ore deposit is unquestionably one of the world's greatest ore deposits. Mines for 3000 years nearly continuously, this Copper-gold deposit is part of a massive pyrite complex northeast of Andalusia Spain. Fittingly, one of the world's leading mining companies carries this name - and yes, I've done work for them, and everyone I worked with was a true "pro."-fh BTW- the Rio Tinto name was given to a copper deposit near Mountain City, Nevada. And another BTW, Rio Tinto donated the Death Valley ghost town of Ryan to the Death Valley Conservancy a number of years ago. the plans were for it to be open to the public this summer. If open, go see it. the "Baby Guage" is in perfect condition.
