ALS signed “Ringo–Ricky, xxxx,” one page on the reverse of a 5.5 x 3.75 postcard showing the T. S. Hanseatic, postmarked Hamburg, November 14, 1962. Letter to friend and old bandmate Roy Trafford, in full: “Arrived here Ok. Having a good time plenty to drink the weather is cold we are with Little Richard he is fab See you Sunday.” Starr fills out the address field in his own hand. In very good condition, with overall toning and creasing, scattered foxing and staining, two edge tears, missing upper right corner tip, and surface loss to image side. Trafford sang and played the tea chest bass with Starr in The Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group. The date on this postcard is significant in that it marks the final time the Beatles played at the Star-Club in Hamburg, a venue which helped them hone their performance skills. A wonderful name-dropping letter from Starr in just his third full month as a member of the Fab Four.
