<B>Ricky Nelson</B></I> <B><I>Teen Time</B></I></B></I> <B>LP (Verve 2083, 1957).</B></I> The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's most memorable hits came during his Imperial label years, but the teen heartthrob's first recordings were right here on the Verve label. It's wasn't exclusively Ricky on the album, although he did get the star treatment on both the front and back covers. Other Verve artists' selections were featured, including two by Randy Sparks, who would later form the New Christy Minstrels, and one song by prolific session guitarist Barney Kessel, who also conducted the orchestra behind Ricky. But Nelson was clearly in the spotlight here, the not quite 17-year old contributing "A Teenager's Romance," "I'm Walking," and "You're My One and Only Love," which peaked on Billboard's Pop charts at #2, #4, and #14 respectively. It was the highlight of Ricky's high school junior year! Impeccable copy of a history-in-the-making LP!
