Rick Geary - San Diego Comic Con Program Cover Original Art (1982). If any one comics artist could be associated with the annual Comic Con held every summer in San Diego, it would have to be Rick Geary. Geary, who hails from San Diego, designed the convention's colorful Toucan logo; he also can be found there each year, tucked away in the Artist's Alley section. This incredible (and huge -- measuring a hefty 30" x 40"), colorful poster-like program cover salutes the 1960s, and features a typical "odd couple" from that era -- she's a mod, with Doors albums, Beatles buttons, and "pressed" hair; he's a long-haired hippie, with a copy of Zap Comix, "love beads," and a groovy paisley shirt. The art is done in markers on heavy illustration board, and is in Very Good condition. Far out, man!
