This extraordinary porcelain vase was crafted in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912).The white glazed vase shows a fine decor of blue underglaze painting and polychrome overglaze enamels creating a unique relief texture. The ornamental decor shows archaic bats – a symbol of happiness and good luck – as well as ruyi motifs, signifying longevity. The vase has a bulbous form with accentuated shoulders trimmed with a ruyi border. The short neck, adorned with the same decor as the body, ends in a slightly protruding lip. Below the lip another stylised ruyi border is visible. A border of stylised lotus leaves adorns the foot rim.

The inside of the vase is glazed in white. The underside shows a perfectly set Yongzheng six-character reign mark (1723-1735) in underglaze blue.



The vase is in excellent condition with only minor signs of age and use. It measures 14 cm in height.
