Swords, 1796), U.S. edition, 178 pages, marbled boards with brown-leather spine and gold lettering, 16mo (6.25" x 4"). Reverend Richard Watson (1737-1816), the Anglican Bishop of Llandaff, defends organized Christianity against the deistic principles of Paine in part two of <I>The Age of Reason</B></I> (1795), which argues that the Bible is, not a divinely inspired work, but a work of literature.
