Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 23 x 19, July 3, 1969. President Nixon appoints Daniel J. Boorstin, of Illinois, “a Member of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission, and do authorize and empower him to execute and fulfill the duties of that Office according to law.” Signed at the conclusion by Nixon and countersigned by Secretary of State William P. Rogers. Document is affixed to an identical size mount. In fine condition. The white wafer seal is crisp and intact. The commission was initially made up of certain designated Federal officials and 17 members of the public appointed by the President. The Commission was terminated in December, 1973, when it was replaced by the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.
