DS signed “Richard M. Nixon,” one page, 8.5 x 10.25, September 18, 1967. Nixon grants permission to a Michigan State University professor for his September 1952 nationally televised ‘Checkers’ speech to be included in a textbook on public speaking. Signed at the bottom by Nixon, with a very rare form of his full signature, including his middle initial. In fine condition, with a slightly trimmed top edge and a light diagonal crease between middle initial and last name. Rarely signing in full, even as President, most all congressional bills were simply signed, “Richard Nixon.” An extremely desirable document given the autographic rarity and that the televised ‘Checkers’ speech was one of the turning points in his political career.
