Letter to Mr. and Mrs. Neil Carothers III, in full: "This is just a note to tell you how pleased Mrs. Nixon and I were to receive an announcement of your recent marriage. Knowing both of your families, it was a particular pleasure to have this news. We want to take this opportunity to send our best wishes to you both for much joy and happiness in the years to come." In fine condition, with some light creases. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, which bears a printed franking signature.

Neil Carothers III was a Rhodes Scholar and an active Republican who served on the National Finance Committee and was active in several presidential campaigns. During his career, he served as a science adviser to the State Department, then the National Science Foundation, and also as a special representative of the International Union for the Preservation of Nature and Natural Resources and of the National Academy of Sciences to the countries of South America.
