<B>Richard Nixon Typed Letter Signed</B></I> "<I>RM</B></I>". One page, 7.25" x 10.5", on his personal letterhead, New York, February 25, 1988, to William Hyland, with the usual fold creases, a staple in the upper left corners, else very good. Nixon sends select advance proof pages from his book <I>1999: Victory Without War</B></I> to author William Hyland and includes some interesting commentary. He writes in part: "The enclosed page proofs...represent my reflections after forty years of observing and participating in U.S. foreign policy. Some of my conclusions will be highly controversial, but I thought it was important to state a responsible position between the superhawks, who want no agreement with the Soviets, and the superdoves, who will agree to anything. I think you may find the last chapter, in which I try to look into the future past the 1988 election, of particular interest." Included with the letter is a Nixon personalized pen manufactured by Parker and in a cardboard box with the Presidential seal in gilt and a facsimile of Nixon's signature.
