Featured in this lot is an Original Signed Richard M. Prunty, "Golden Season", Oil on Canvas, circa 1970s-1990s. Richard Melvin Prunty (1925-2011) was a self-taught artist, worked as art director for Continental Advertising until 1964, then established an art studio where he developed his appreciation of wildlife and the outdoors. His paintings, sold nationwide, are currently found in businesses and private collections throughout the Midwest. Among the recognition received for his work were first, second and third place in the Minnesota Loon Festival and Geese Unlimited Print of the Year. He was also a talented woodcarver and was once commissioned to carve three full-size totem poles. Prints of Prunty's works are in demand with wildlife and nature lovers. Original oils rarely come up for sale. This original oil on canvas features an Autumnal landscape scene of a farm in the background, a pond or stream in the foreground close to the fenceline. A beautiful slice of Americana. Artist's signature is on right bottom corner. The oil on canvas is professionally stretched and mounted on a shadowbox style rustic frame with scalloped edges. Painting and frame are in very nice condition. Visible art measures 23.25"W x 49"L, frame is 28.75"W x 53"L x 1.75"D, weight is 10lb, 6oz.
