Traveler, adventurer, and author (1900–1939), best known today for having swum the length of the Panama Canal. He disappeared at sea while attempting to sail a Chinese junk from Hong Kong to San Francisco. Vintage glossy 5 x 7 head-and-shoulders photo of Halliburton in a suit and tie, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “I’d rather hang on your wall Grace Thompson than any other wall I know, Dick Halliburton, March 28, 1928.” Scattered surface marks and creases, and slight irregular ink adhesion, otherwise fine condition.
