Octavo. 413 pages with full-color fold-out map at end. <BR><BR>Original tan cloth binding with gilt lettering at spine and gilt illustration on recto board. Some bumping and rubbing to spine ends with sharp, solid board corners. Dust jacket is fine, with nothing more than slight creasing at spine ends to detract. Textblock is clean and tight. Overall, a fine copy.<BR><BR>Adams' tale of rabbit culture was initially turned down by all the major publishing houses, but once it reached the store shelves, it won both the prestigious Carnegie Medal and The Guardian Award for Children's Fiction. Penguin Books reports that <I>Watership Down</B></I> is its best-selling novel of all time.
