(Revolutionary War) Map, "A Map of the Country in which the Army under Lt General Burgoyne acted in the Campaign of 1777, showing the Marches of the Army & the Places of the principal Actions", 10 1/2"X23", drawn by Mr Medcalfe, engraved by William Faden. Handcolored in red, showing Burgoyne's route. John Burgoyne (1722-92), commanded the expedition from Canada against American colonies (1776); captured Ticonderoga, but was forced to surrender to Genl Horatio Gates at Saratoga (1777). Slightly trimmed at margins, but believed to have been published in 1780. Some wrinkling, o/w VG. $600-800
