Married Mr. & Mrs. Geo Taylor in Springfield Massachusetts April 18, 1874. 4 1/8" by 2 3/8" Alexander Burgess, born in Wareham, Massachusetts, was the son of Thomas Burgess and Mary Mackle. He graduated from Brown University in 1838 and the General Theological Seminary in 1841, becoming an Episcopal priest in 1843. He served as rector in various parishes before being consecrated as the First Bishop of Quincy in Christ Church, Springfield, Massachusetts, on May 15, 1878
