Revolutionary War Major General John Sullivan Signed Historic N.H. Military Commission
GENERAL JOHN SULLIVAN. American Revolution Major General, captured at Long Island and exchanged, he later wintered at Valley Forge, and later was abandoned by the French Commodore D'Estaing to face the British in battle at Newport, Rhode Island.
July 25, 1786-Dated, Partly-Printed Document Signed, "Jno Sullivan" as Governor of New Hampshire, 1 page, 12.5” x 15.5”, Durham (NH), with the blank areas filled out in his hand, Very Fine. This original document is appointing Jonathan Rawson as an Aid-de-Camp in the New Hampshire Militia. It has its original, intact official Seal of the State of New Hampshire. There are a few minor marginal tears and chips, with trivial pinholes at fold intersections, overall quite nice in eye appeal. The printed text is dark and clear, attractive for display, not examined out of its simple wooden frame, which measures to 14.25 x 16.5” tall. This very scarce John Sullivan Signed New Hampshire Military Commission ready for display.
