</font></strong>Katarzyna Korytowska has been fortunate enough to be able to combine two of her passions together in her career as an artist, interior and architectural design with the fine arts. Katarzyna completed her formal training at two different schools in her native country of Poland, receiving her MS in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Poznan, and another MS in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, along with a concentration in oil painting, at the Poznan Academy of Art. Due to her extensive background in both fields, Katarzyna has been able to utilize both degrees, not only to design buildings, but to create art that enhances the interiors wherever her work is shown, allowing her to fill these spaces with warmth and energy. She has recently relocated to the United States and has settled in Michigan, where she has continued to incorporate her architectural background and art into functional living spaces.
This original oil painting, entitled ?Resting Woman?, was done by the extremely talented Katarzyna Korytowska in 2007. The painting depicts a woman reclining on a bench with wrought iron scrollwork. The pose in which she sits, along with her body language, is very powerful and communicates a great deal to the viewer. For instance, her head is slightly tilted up, creating a lovely air of defiant independence.
