Group of four unused color tickets from the 1908 Republican National Convention held at the Chicago Coliseum between June 16 and 19, 1908. Each ticket measures 6 x 2.75, with three marked as "Guest" and one as "Alternate," and all stamped accordingly with admission day and seating location: "First Day Only, Platform, Entrance F, Section 2, Row L, Seat 13," "Second Day Only, Entrance E, Section 81, Row F, Seat 3," "Third Day Only, Entrance E, Section 81, Row F, Seat 4," and "Fourth Day Only, Entrance B, Section 40, Row P, Seat 5." In overall fine condition. On the strength of President Roosevelt's endorsement, Secretary of War William H. Taft received the nomination at the convention, with New York Representative James S. Sherman being named his running mate.
