Republic of Texas pay scrip issued to law partners ''Flack & Hall'', dated 26 October 1836 from Columbia, West Texas, as Columbia was the original capitol of the Republic. Partially-printed check is numbered ''1175'' and reads in part: ''The Treasurer of the Republic of Texas will pay to Flack & Hall on order, two hundred Dollars out of any money in the Treasury...'' Signed by Republic auditor ''A. Brigham'' and controller ''E.M. Pearse''. With a ''Flack & Hall'' signature to verso. Scrip measures 7'' x 3'' with slightly uneven edges. Thin paper is uniformly toned with some foxing. Very good.
