A highly decorative Republic period cloisonné enamel figure of a noble lady or immortal. The body is exquisitely decorated with multi-color cloisonné robes, while the head and hands are finely molded from glazed ceramic in realistic ivory tones. Her serene expression and elegant posture reflect classical Chinese femininity and court aesthetics. She wears an elaborate three-dimensional phoenix headdress, inset with enameled feathers and adorned with colorful accents. The figure stands atop a lacquered wood base with a Greek fret motif. A superb example of early 20th century cross-media decorative artistry from China.
