Reprint of 1723 Edition of Benjamin Franklin's The New England Courant. Two pages, 7” x 10.5”, integrally matted with a border to an overall size of 8.25” x 11.5”, issue number 80, Boston, February 11, 1723. This edition may in fact be the first, or one of the first, published after Ben Franklin's acquisition of the paper. There is a note to that effect at the head of the first column. The remainder of the news in this brief edition deals mainly with a speech given by the king in Parliament the previous year. There is a small hole which affects a bit of text on both sides, a few small stains, and the paper is generally toned with age, else very good condition. There are only four known copies of the original edition so interested collectors need to find a 19th century reprint such as this to add to their collections. Fine for display. Ex. Henry E. Luhrs Collection.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
