Lot of two photographs. 1) Framed picture (10½ by 13½) of the 1st day of operation, November 24, 1904, of the Reno-Sparks, Nevada Transit Company. This electric street car ran from Fourth Street to down Virginia Street to Sparks via B Street (Victorian Avenue). It was the work of Dr. Hosea Reid of the Gray, Reid, Wright Department Store. On January 17, 1906, 14 months after service began, the line was bought by a San Francisco interest and renamed. The tracks were town up sometime after 1927. Gray, Reid Wright Company billhead included. 2) Framed picture (9¼ x 21) of Reno’s automobile row shows Steinheimer Brothers and Liberty Garage. The Steinheimer Brothers sold Studebaker automobiles as early as 1916. Liberty Garage was in business as early as 1917. Both pictures purchased from the Nevada Historical Society.
