Reno,NV - Washoe County - c1931 - Comstock Club By-Laws and Constitution, Rough Draft, :
A 7-page typed document outlining the structure, governance, and property of the Comstock Club. The Committee on By-Laws and Constitution consisted of A.M. Jacobson, Harry Mahood, and Hector Welsh, and their names are on the title page of this document. There is some uncertainty whether or not this document references the beginnings of the Comstock Club gambling hall as the early casino located at 226 1/2 N. Center Street in Reno (now part of Harrah's Casino/Hotel). It was licensed to operate craps, 21 and roulette games from January 1, 1932-1935. Bob Grignon and Bruce Sheehey owned it when it was sold to Vic Williams in May of 1936. Williams remodeled the club and renamed it the Inferno [Ref: The Rise of the Biggest Little City: an encyclopedic history of Reno, 1931-1981, by Dwane Kling, p.31]. There is another book of interest titled The Comstock Club, by Charles Carroll Goodwin, published in 1891, that relates to life in Virginia City, but the above document does not seem to be from that era.
